holding Glenn at his death, his struggle from AIDS ending.
Amazing Grace is my own healing. Each image is an
individualized questioning and meditation of the on/off
intersection of Life and Death. The main essence is a single
dead bird, enlarged, delicate and beautiful, inviting close
examination. The bird is joined by three boxes like
ideograms in a natural history museum referring to essential
elements—here personal references of departed friends.
Although the montages are highly personal, their presence is
iconographic. As a studied individual can represent an
entire species, these individual expressions point toward a
