nest is a place of home, holding vulnerable new life. The
nest was womb and vessel, cushioning and insulating.
Protection is promised from wind and rain; the structure is
also a hiding place from enemies. The nest is a beginning,
wherein security and nurture allow for the development of
nest is a metaphoric. It is a point of departure, a place to
fall out of or fly away from. Will I have wings? Will I fly
unafraid and know singing as the way to identify my
territory? Also a place to return to, the nest and the
garden offer a meditation for life and its journeys.
